An investigation by the FBI Massachusetts Safe Streets Task Force, in collaboration with the DEA New England, has led to the indictment of two individuals for conspiring to distribute fentanyl in Worcester County, Massachusetts. The two suspects are Richard Molina-Ovalle, a Worcester resident, and Jose Molina-Ovalle, an illegal alien from the Dominican Republic.
Authorities have detained Jose Molina-Ovalle after he was arrested in the Bahamas on September 24, 2026. Richard Molina-Ovalle had previously been arrested in September but was released under specific conditions.
Charging documents reveal that on September 10, 2026, Richard Molina-Ovalle was seen outside a co-conspirator’s residence in Leominster with over 400 grams of fentanyl in his vehicle. A subsequent search of his apartment in Worcester uncovered approximately 31 grams of fentanyl and drug packaging materials.
Jose Molina-Ovalle is alleged to have been the drug supplier for Richard Molina-Ovalle. Following a search of Jose’s residence in Worcester, investigators reportedly seized around 4.5 kilograms of fentanyl, one kilogram of cocaine, various cutting agents, a substantial amount of cash, scales, blenders, and additional packaging materials. The search also yielded several firearms, including multiple handguns and an AR-15 rifle.
The firearms recovered at Jose Molina-Ovalle’s residence included a Glock 21 .45 caliber pistol, a Glock 27 .40 caliber pistol, a Smith and Wesson .380 caliber pistol, a 12-gauge shotgun, and an Anderson Arms AR-15 rifle. As a result of the firearms recovery, he faces additional charges for allegedly being an alien in possession of firearms.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office in the District of Massachusetts is overseeing the prosecution of this case. Investigators have acknowledged collaborations from the ATF Boston, IRS — Criminal Investigation, and several local police departments, including those from Leominster, Fitchburg, Clinton, and Worcester.
As the investigation continues, authorities remain committed to addressing the distribution of illicit drugs and firearms in the region.
