Baar (Switzerland), 21 October 2026 – Esther Ang has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of MET Asia, the Singapore-based branch of MET Group focused on liquefied natural gas (LNG) and energy operations in the Asia-Pacific region. Her appointment takes effect on 1 November 2026.
Ang transitions into the CEO position after spending nine years with MET Group, where she significantly contributed to expanding the company’s LNG initiatives and its global footprint. Currently, she serves as the Head of LNG Origination at MET International, where her efforts have strengthened the company’s LNG value chain, particularly in origination and international operations. A citizen of Singapore, Ang possesses extensive expertise and knowledge of regional markets.
In her new role, Ang will guide MET Asia’s further development in LNG origination and trading across the Asia-Pacific and Southeast Asia. This aligns with MET Group’s strategy to enhance its global LNG portfolio and regional energy operations.
Founded in Singapore in 2023, MET Asia serves as MET Group’s platform for expanding its influence in the region, bolstering its global LNG activities, and pursuing investment opportunities in energy infrastructure and renewable energy projects.
MET Group sources LNG from suppliers worldwide, including long-term purchases from the United States. In 2025, MET delivered 5.42 million tonnes of LNG, primarily into its European import system. This year, the company anticipates a further increase in its portfolio, with Asian deliveries projected to account for 30% of its total volumes. The group aims to leverage its strong European base to expand its strategies in the growing global LNG market.
Ang expressed enthusiasm for her new role, stating, “Asia is one of the most important energy markets in the world and offers significant opportunities for growth. Since establishing our presence in Singapore, we have built a strong foundation for the business, and I look forward to working with our colleagues to reinforce trust with partners and further develop regional and wider global collaborations together.”
