Azerbaijan Expands ASAN Service Model to Dominican Republic
Azerbaijan’s ASAN Service model is poised to be implemented in the Dominican Republic, marking a significant expansion as the 53rd nation to adopt this public service initiative. This development follows discussions held in Santo Domingo led by Ulvi Mehdiyev, Chairman of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of Azerbaijan.
Collaborative Efforts Between Azerbaijan and the Dominican Republic
During the visit, Azerbaijan’s delegation engaged with José Ignacio Paliza, the Minister of the Presidency of the Dominican Republic. The talks highlighted the Dominican Republic’s interest in enhancing bilateral relations, with particular emphasis on the ASAN Service model as a framework for improving governance and public service delivery.
In addition to discussions with Minister Paliza, the Azerbaijani delegation also met with Sigmund Freund, the Minister of Public Administration. These meetings culminated in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding, establishing a formal framework for cooperation.
This agreement encompasses several key initiatives: the introduction of the ASAN Service model in the Dominican Republic, training sessions for Dominican civil servants led by Azerbaijani experts, and the creation of industry standards related to public service management.
The Memorandum is particularly noteworthy as it represents the first collaboration with a Caribbean nation under Azerbaijan’s initiative to promote the ASAN Service internationally. This step is expected to foster greater collaboration between the two countries in the realm of public administration.
With this latest agreement, the Dominican Republic joins a growing list of countries benefiting from Azerbaijan’s innovative approaches to governance and public service efficiency.
Why It Matters
The implementation of the ASAN Service model in the Dominican Republic is significant as it reflects the ongoing efforts of Azerbaijan to enhance its international collaborations and to export its successful governance frameworks. By facilitating experience sharing and training, this initiative may strengthen public sector effectiveness in the Dominican Republic while also enhancing Azerbaijan’s diplomatic influence in the region.
