Giannis Antetokounmpo delivered an impressive performance on Wednesday, scoring 20 points and narrowly missing a triple-double with nine assists during the Miami Heat’s 144-128 preseason victory over the Brooklyn Nets. The All-Star forward played for 24 minutes, contributing 15 rebounds, one steal, and three blocks while shooting 8-for-10 from the field.
This matchup marked Antetokounmpo’s third preseason game with the Heat, and it was his best outing to date. Despite some struggles at the free-throw line, where he converted only 4 of 9 attempts, Antetokounmpo demonstrated his versatility and skill throughout the game. The Heat will have one final preseason game before launching their regular season against the Minnesota Timberwolves on October 21.
While Antetokounmpo’s performance was stellar, he acknowledged some areas for improvement, particularly with ball handling. His exhibition games have shown promise as the Heat prepare for the upcoming season.
It remains uncertain whether Antetokounmpo will participate in the team’s final preseason game, but he has clearly established himself as a key player for Miami as they approach the start of the 2023-24 season.
