Cristian Pache was designated for assignment by the New York Mets on Thursday, a decision announced by the team.
During the 2026 regular season, Pache participated in 15 games with the Mets, achieving a batting average of .125 with one hit in eight at-bats and two runs scored. He primarily played for Triple-A Syracuse, where he had a more productive season, finishing with a batting average of .235, five home runs, 41 runs batted in (RBI), and 43 runs scored across 93 games. He also recorded 16 stolen bases in 323 at-bats.
In a related roster move, infielder Kyren Paris, who was claimed off waivers from the Los Angeles Angels earlier on Thursday, takes Pache’s place on the Mets’ 40-man roster.
