Alchemy Comedy Theater is set to host its 14th Annual Greenville Comedy Marathon on July 18, offering a day full of laughter at Coffee Underground in downtown Greenville. This 12-hour event will showcase a variety of performances, including improv, stand-up, and sketch comedy, featuring both regular Alchemy shows and special one-time performances created for the marathon.
The marathon will kick off at noon with “House Party,” an alternative improv comedy show featuring several of the theater’s long-form house teams. Other highlights include “Laugh Track” at 2 p.m., offering a mix of short improv games inspired by television, and the “Improv 301 Student Showcase” at 3:30 p.m., where students will demonstrate their skills.
At 5 p.m., Harrison Brookie, the owner and executive director of Alchemy Comedy Theater, will present “UnPresidented: A One Man Show About All the Presidential Men,” celebrating America’s 250th anniversary through stories about all 45 U.S. presidents. The lineup continues with “Improv All Stars” at 7 p.m., featuring interactive comedy games, followed by “Stand Up Meets Improv” at 8:30 p.m., allowing performers to join in live on stage. The event will conclude with “The Last Laugh Finale Bit Show” at 10 p.m., showcasing final performances from throughout the day.
Brookie expressed enthusiasm for the return of this annual event, stating, “This year, we are featuring almost every single show regularly produced at our theater. We are also featuring some special one-time only events like an improv student showcase and a solo show celebrating America’s presidents.”
Tickets for individual shows are priced at $15, while an all-day marathon pass, which grants access to all performances, is available for $35. The marathon will take place at Coffee Underground, located at 1 E. Coffee St. For those interested in attending, additional information and ticket purchases can be found at the Alchemy Comedy website.
