Cambodian athletes achieved notable success at the 4th World Police Games 2026 in the Dominican Republic, bringing home four medals, including one silver and three bronze. The international competition took place in Santo Domingo from Monday to Friday, with participants from various countries showcasing their skills in multiple sports.
The silver medal was earned in beach volleyball, where Junior Sergeants Thy Menghuong and Moeun Menglay secured second place in a competitive field. In judo, Lieutenant Colonel Nuth Serey Rath and Lieutenant Colonel Sun Panyavath each claimed bronze medals, contributing to Cambodia’s overall tally. Deputy Prime Minister Sar Sokha, who is also the Minister of Interior, expressed his pride in the athletes’ achievements through a statement on his official Facebook page. He commended their performance and encouraged the team to stay positive, noting that competing against international athletes would be beneficial for their skills development in future competitions. Sokha also thanked the Sports Council’s General Secretariat for their leadership and preparation efforts.
The Cambodian delegation consisted of 15 members, including officials, coaches, and athletes, and was authorized to participate by Sokha in his role as chairman of the Ministry of Interior’s Sports Council. The team competed in three disciplines: beach volleyball, swimming, and judo, under the leadership of Lieutenant General Yith Phireak, secretary-general of the Sports Council Secretariat.
