Annual Fan Survey: Share Your Confidence in NHL Teams’ Front Offices
Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Pinterest Email

Starting this week, fans of the National Hockey League (NHL) are invited to participate in an annual survey designed to gauge their confidence in the front offices of each team. This survey, conducted over a decade, aims to capture fan sentiment regarding various aspects of management during the season.

The survey provides an opportunity for fans to express their views on how well each team’s management is performing based on important criteria. Each front office will be evaluated using a 1-5 scale across six categories, which reflect key areas of management effectiveness.

Survey Categories and Evaluation Criteria

The evaluation categories include roster building, cap management, drafting and developing, trading, free agency, and overall vision. Roster building assesses how well the front office has constructed the team, focusing on whether the players form the right foundation for current or future success. Cap management looks at financial efficiency, including how well the team is managing its budget and contract situations.

In terms of drafting and developing, fans will evaluate the effectiveness of the front office in selecting and nurturing talent from the draft to the NHL. The trading category reflects on management’s decisions regarding player trades, analyzing whether these moves have proven advantageous.

Free agency reviews how well the front office navigates player signings, particularly during a period known for potential missteps. Lastly, the vision category evaluates how clearly management communicates its plans for building a competitive team.

Fans can choose to provide ratings for a single team or assess as many teams as they wish. The combination of individual assessments will culminate in a broader view of each team’s front office effectiveness, blending fan opinion with public perspectives.

Survey results will be compiled and made available next week. Fans can also contribute written opinions regarding their experiences and thoughts about the management of their favorite teams, with selected comments potentially featured in the final report.

Links to participate in the survey are provided for both those wishing to rate individual teams and for a broader survey of all 32 NHL teams.
