James Harden led the Cleveland Cavaliers with 24 points in a close 114-111 defeat against the Atlanta Hawks on Thursday. The veteran guard’s performance included shooting 50% from the field, making seven of 14 attempts, and hitting three of eight from beyond the arc, along with seven rebounds and four assists in 36 minutes of play.
Harden demonstrated his scoring prowess, amassing 20 points over the first three quarters. However, his impact waned in the fourth quarter, which ultimately contributed to the Cavaliers’ loss at home.
This game marked a personal milestone for Harden as it was the first time he reached the 20-point mark this season. Through five regular-season games, he is averaging 17.4 points, 6.2 assists, and 4.6 rebounds per game.
The Cavaliers will look to rebound from this defeat in their next matchup, continuing their campaign to establish a strong presence in the early part of the season.
