Mert Alas’s Golden Martini
This cold gin martini, created by fashion photographer Mert Alas, is known for being a highlight at gatherings. The recipe emphasizes the distinct flavor of his Seventy One Gin.
To prepare the Golden Martini, chill the gin in the freezer for several hours and also cool the martini glass for at least 30 minutes. It is recommended to hold the glass by its stem to maintain the drink’s icy temperature.
Total Time: 5 minutes
Makes: 1 drink
Ingredients
- 50 mL gin, chilled for at least a few hours
- 15 mL bianco vermouth
- 5 mL dry vermouth
- Large ice cubes
- Fresh pink grapefruit peel
Directions
- In a mixing glass filled with large ice cubes, combine the gin and vermouth, stirring for about 20-25 seconds.
- When ready to serve, remove the glass from the freezer and strain the martini into it. Hold the grapefruit peel with the colored side facing the liquid and gently twist it above the drink to release its oils over the surface.
