OpenAI’s head of computing capacity, Sachin Katti, will leave the company next month after approximately one year in the role. His departure marks another leadership change at OpenAI, which is a key player attracting substantial investments in the tech industry.
Katti joined OpenAI in late 2022 with the goal of managing its ambitious Stargate data center initiative. This project initially faced delays due to unsuccessful negotiations with SoftBank and Oracle. Subsequently, OpenAI opted to pursue agreements separately with these companies. Katti also facilitated additional computing partnerships with providers, including Amazon Web Services, to enhance OpenAI’s operational capacity.
The company has not disclosed the reasons behind Katti’s departure or who will succeed him. OpenAI continues to be at the forefront of advancements in artificial intelligence, relying on robust computing infrastructure to support its ongoing projects.
