Over 300 members of the Adventist-laymen’s Services and Industries (ASi) from more than 20 countries gathered in Fribourg, Switzerland, from September 23 to 26 to reaffirm their commitment to sharing the message of Jesus in the marketplace. The participants, who lead various ministries and businesses, engaged in learning sessions, communal worship, and discussions aimed at enhancing their collective efforts in evangelism.
Carlos Dias, president of ASi Europe, opened the event by emphasizing the dual role of business and evangelism. “Before business, we live to share Jesus,” he stated, noting that the attendees are “more than 300 evangelists here.”

General Conference president Erton Köhler delivered the keynote address on the opening night. He was joined by regional church presidents Barna Magyarosi and Daniel Duda, who reinforced the importance of cooperation between church workers and lay members. Also present were TED field secretary Ian Sweeney and ASi North America president Danny Houghton.
Köhler urged attendees to recommit to the Bible as the guiding principle for their work and to actively seek ways to proclaim God’s message. “God is telling us, ‘If you want me to come back, please be bold—do something different! Move forward by faith!’” he encouraged.

He reminded the leaders that God is the true owner of Adventist mission, stating, “What is impossible for us is possible for Him.” Köhler’s message encouraged attendees to act courageously in support of missionary initiatives.
In the lead-up to the convention, 100 mission projects were proposed to the ASi Europe board. Due to funding limitations, 60 projects were approved for support, illustrating the organization’s commitment to practical implementation of their mission.

Sweeney celebrated the collaborative spirit evident at the event, stating, “When we work together and we recognize our common enemy, God’s kingdom is built up.” Jan-Harry Cabungcal, an Adventist neuroscientist turned missionary, also shared his insights, emphasizing the importance of applying theological principles in outreach efforts.
Cabungcal encouraged every member to recommit to their mission fields, noting, “Wherever we are, that’s our mission field.”
