NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Fernando Gonzalez Ramirez, a 32-year-old man, has been arrested in the Dominican Republic on charges of sexually assaulting minors while associated with a youth baseball program in Franklin, Tennessee. Authorities confirmed his return to the United States following his arrest.
Gonzalez, a Panamanian citizen, faces multiple state charges in Williamson County related to alleged assaults on boys between 2023 and 2024. The investigation into his activities began after two boys reported incidents involving Gonzalez, prompting law enforcement in Tennessee to launch a probe, according to the U.S. Marshals Service.
Following the start of the investigation, Gonzalez fled Tennessee. U.S. Marshals tracked his movements, discovering that he had traveled through Mexico, Japan, and Panama before identifying his location in the Dominican Republic. A lead provided to the agency’s foreign field office there led to his capture within hours.
Gonzalez was flown to New Jersey on Tuesday evening and is currently awaiting extradition back to Tennessee, where he will face the state charges. The investigation remains active, as authorities believe there may be additional victims who have not yet come forward.
Anyone with more information regarding Gonzalez or potential incidents is encouraged to contact the U.S. Marshals Service at 1-877-WANTED2 or via email at usmstips@usdoj.gov.
