MOUNTAIN VIEW REGIONAL LIBRARY LAUNCHES HALLOWEEN EVENTS SCHEDULE
The Mountain View Regional Library in Marietta, Georgia, is set to kick off its Halloween events with a series of engaging activities for children and teens throughout the latter half of October. The celebration includes creative workshops, interactive science sessions, and lively dance parties aimed at fostering community involvement and interest in science and the arts.
Halloween Activities and Schedule
The first event, the BOOgie Woogie Dance Party, is scheduled for Friday, October 23, at 10:30 AM. Targeting preschoolers aged 3-5, this event, hosted by Rhythm Dance Center, promises an energetic morning filled with playful games and monster-themed dances. Participants are encouraged to wear costumes as they enjoy a fun-filled session.
Teens aged 12-17 can look forward to the Spooky Senses for Teens event on Tuesday, October 27, at 5 PM. This program will explore various horror-related sounds, textures, and scents, concluding with a unique opportunity for attendees to craft and sample their own spooky concoctions.
Young science enthusiasts between the ages of 6-12 will have two exciting opportunities. On Thursday, October 22, at 4 PM, they can participate in Meteorites: Rocks from Space!, which includes engaging book readings and a Q&A session with NASA Solar System Ambassador, Chris Thompson. Each child will also receive a meteorite sample to take home. Additionally, the Halloween Science Spooktacular takes place on October 27 at 3:30 PM, where young attendees will learn through interactive activities guided by science professors and students from Georgia Highlands College. Please note that this event has reached capacity.
Prior to these Halloween-themed activities, the library also hosts several book discussions and groups, such as the Page Turners Book Group on October 7, which will focus on chilling mysteries.
