More than 40 high school students participated in career exploration events organized by AEG this summer, coinciding with Goldenvoice’s Head in the Clouds and Just Like Heaven festivals at Brookside at the Rose Bowl. The initiative aimed to provide students with insights into the live entertainment industry.
Students explored various career opportunities in areas such as event production, marketing, operations, food and beverage management, stage production, and entertainment management. They learned about the coordination and execution necessary to stage large-scale festivals through guided tours and discussions with industry professionals.
In addition to career exposure, the program aimed to help students develop practical skills essential for their academic and professional futures. Collaborative challenges allowed participants to work in teams to create original festival concepts and present their ideas to industry leaders. This format boosted their communication, teamwork, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
The events brought together students from different schools and community organizations across the Los Angeles region, facilitating direct engagement with industry professionals. For many, this experience clarified the educational pathways and professional opportunities available in the entertainment sector.
Programs like the one offered by AEG are increasingly significant in high school Career Technical Education (CTE) initiatives. By linking students with real-world environments and mentors, these organizations help young people make more informed decisions about their futures and build confidence in pursuing ambitious career aspirations.
As the entertainment industry evolves, building diverse talent pipelines is critical for its future success. Through these programs, AEG and Goldenvoice are working to prepare the next generation of professionals by providing meaningful exposure to the careers, skills, and networks vital to the live entertainment business.
