Brandy will headline the House of R&B concert in Lagos, Nigeria, on December 20, an event expected to be a highlight of the festive season known as Detty December. The concert will take place at the Eko Convention Centre and marks the beginning of a series of performances, which will include Coca-Cola Rhythm Unplugged on December 21, Flytime Fest Powered by Coca-Cola from December 22 to 24, and Flytime Circle on December 25.
Cecil Hammond, founder and CEO of Flytime, expressed excitement about Brandy’s participation, stating, “Brandy is one of the most influential voices in R&B, and bringing her to the Flytime stage is incredibly special. We’ve watched Lagos grow into a global destination for music and entertainment over the past two decades, and we’re proud to have played a part in that journey.” He added that Brandy embodies the spirit of the House of R&B, making her an ideal choice to kick off the December festivities.
Keke Hammond, Flytime’s COO, emphasized the organization’s ongoing goal to enhance live entertainment standards in Lagos. “This December brings six nights, each with its own identity and experience. Opening with an artist of Brandy’s caliber sets the tone for the performances and hospitality our guests can expect all season,” she said.
Before the Lagos concert, Brandy has scheduled three performances in South Africa. She will perform in Cape Town on December 14, followed by concerts in Pretoria on December 17 and December 18.
This year has been notable for Brandy, who has collaborated with artists like Ty Dolla $ign, Kehlani, and Josh Levi. She also received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and released her bestselling memoir, PHASES.
Flytime’s House of R&B concert is poised to be a significant event as the entertainment industry in Lagos continues to thrive.
