A Chronicle of Minor Things, the upcoming feature by Indian director Tribeny Rai, has won the APM Busan Award at the Asian Project Market, part of the 21st Asian Contents & Film Market (ACFM). The award includes a cash prize of $15,000.
The film is currently in development and tells the story of a teenage girl found hanging from a tree on the boundary between two villages, leading to a territorial dispute as a village councillor gets involved in the investigation. The project also received the Sorfond Award, which includes a trip to Norway’s Sorfond Pitching Forum. This marks a reunion for Rai with producer Kisley, who previously collaborated on the 2025 film Shape of Momo, which secured two Busan Vision Awards and was selected for the New Directors Competition at the San Sebastián International Film Festival.
At the closing ceremony, Indonesian project Goldfish earned three awards, marking a successful debut for director Aditya Ahmad. The film won the VIPO Award, which includes a cash prize of $10,000, as well as the Kongchak Studio Award, valued at $25,000 for post-production services, and the QCinema Special Award, which covers a trip to the Directors Guild of the Philippines (DGPI) pitch event.
Goldfish is set in South Sulawesi, where Ahmad grew up, and follows the journey of a boy who runs away from his father. The film is produced by Muhammad Zaidy, whose previous work includes Vengeance Is Mine, All Others Pay Cash, which won the Golden Leopard at the Locarno Film Festival.
Other notable winners included Casparina directed by Reza Rahadian, who took home the CJ ENM Award, valued at $10,000. Rahadian, a prominent figure in Indonesia’s film industry, is known for his directorial debut On Your Lap, which received four Busan Vision awards in 2025. Casparina will explore the story of Rahadian’s grandmother, a journalist and freedom fighter.
This year’s Asian Project Market saw a record 604 submissions from 48 countries, with 30 projects from 17 countries being selected for recognition.
