Chelsea FC is nearing an agreement to sign Moroccan winger Gessime Yassine, 20, from RC Strasbourg. Former Chelsea goalkeeping coach Christophe Lollichon mentioned the development in an interview, stating that Yassine is “practically” on the verge of joining the Premier League club.
Yassine moved to Strasbourg earlier this year from Dunkerque in a deal worth €7 million. Since joining, he has made 25 appearances for Strasbourg, contributing two goals and three assists. Notably, he delivered a standout performance in August, earning the Man of the Match title against RC Lens.
In discussing the player, Lollichon highlighted Strasbourg’s commitment to nurturing young talent. “We’re meticulous about discovering talent and giving them the opportunity to express themselves. We don’t know how far they’ll go,” he said. Alongside Yassine, other players linked to Chelsea from Strasbourg include Valentin Barco, Mamadou Sarr, and Emmanuel Emegha.
Should Yassine finalize the transfer, he would further strengthen Chelsea’s roster as they continue to build upon their young talent acquisitions from sister club Strasbourg.
