Breeze Airways will launch nonstop service from Tampa to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, beginning June 18, 2027. This new route offers travelers from Florida’s Gulf Coast a year-round connection to the capital, making it the first airline to operate this route continuously throughout the year, according to Tampa International Airport.
The service will operate twice a week, on Mondays and Fridays, utilizing Airbus A220-300 aircraft. Flights will depart from Tampa International Airport at 10:30 a.m. and arrive in Santo Domingo at 1:25 p.m. The return flight is scheduled to leave Santo Domingo at 2:25 p.m., arriving back in Tampa at 5:30 p.m., with all times listed in local time.
This schedule is designed to accommodate travelers looking for a long weekend getaway, allowing for a three-night stay in Santo Domingo. Visitors can either return after a long weekend or opt for extended stays, as the same two days govern trips in both directions.
The addition of Santo Domingo complements Breeze’s existing service to Punta Cana, which began on July 2, 2026, giving travelers access to the country’s eastern resort region as well as its historic capital known for its museums, cuisine, and walkable historic quarter.
The Colonial Zone, a UNESCO World Heritage site, features 16th-century architecture, churches, and museums, providing a rich cultural experience. Additionally, attractions like the Malecón, which runs along the Caribbean waterfront, and Los Tres Ojos, known for its caves and lagoons, enhance visitors’ city itineraries.
Breeze Airways has been expanding its Caribbean offerings from Tampa, having recently introduced routes to Nassau in June 2026 and to San José, Costa Rica, in October 2026. Upcoming service to St. Thomas is also planned to begin on December 16, 2026, adding to the range of direct destinations available to travelers.
The new nonstop flights to Santo Domingo will provide frequent opportunities for travelers, whether for leisure, business, or family visits, with added convenience for short weekend trips.
