FAYETTEVILLE, GA – The U.S. Under-23 Women’s National Team concluded its training camp with a commanding 6-2 victory over the Dominican Republic Women’s National Team at the Arthur M. Blank U.S. Soccer National Training Center on October 13, 2026.
This match followed a prior 5-0 win against the Dominican Republic on October 9. The U.S. team dominated the game, scoring two goals in the first half and four additional goals after halftime. Mia Fishel of Seattle Reign FC opened the scoring for the U.S. just 15 minutes into the game, marking her third goal across the two matches. The Dominican Republic equalized in the 35th minute, but U.S. midfielder Gia Corley, playing for San Diego Wave FC, restored the lead in the 43rd minute with an assist from Riley Jackson, also from North Carolina Courage.
Melanie Barcenas, another San Diego Wave FC player, netted her first goal six minutes into the second half. Ally Sentnor from Angel City FC converted a penalty kick three minutes later, extending the lead to 4-1. Caiya Hanks of Portland Thorns FC followed with another goal shortly thereafter. Barcenas capped her performance with a second goal in the 63rd minute, while the Dominican Republic managed to score a consolation goal through a U.S. own goal in the 84th minute.
Head coach Emma Hayes reiterated the fluidity of player eligibility between the U-23 team and the senior national team, reflecting in the roster’s composition. Seven players in this match have previously earned caps for the senior U.S. Women’s National Team, with nine having trained under Hayes’ guidance. Notably, Sentnor has accumulated 23 caps and scored seven goals for the senior team, while Fishel has three caps and one goal.
