MO Global, the parent company of Multiópticas, is set to expand its operations in Latin America with the introduction of stores in Guatemala and the Dominican Republic planned for early 2027. The company announced this new venture as part of its strategic growth efforts in the region.
As part of this initiative, MO Global has entered into a partnership with the Disresa group to develop a network of optical stores across six Central American and Caribbean countries. In addition to Guatemala and the Dominican Republic, the expansion will include Costa Rica, Honduras, El Salvador, and Panama.
Disresa currently operates approximately 150 retail locations in the region, representing various brands such as Skechers, New Era, Montblanc, Adolfo Domínguez, and Birkenstock. The first phase of the expansion will focus on establishing stores in major shopping centers located in the capitals of these countries.
This expansion will enhance MO Global’s presence in eight key markets in Latin America. The new openings follow the company’s recent entry into Peru, where it launched two stores in Lima in April and is considering adding two more locations before the end of the year. MO Global is also expanding in Mexico, where it currently operates two stores and has plans for sustained growth in the medium to long term.
MO Global operates over 550 points of sale in Spain and credits its aggressive expansion strategy to a capital increase of 45 million euros that was completed in late 2025, fully subscribed by its partners. Carlos Crespo, CEO of MO Global, emphasized the importance of Latin America in the company’s international expansion plans, noting, “The alliance with a leading partner in the territory like Disresa allows us to accelerate our implementation in Central America and the Caribbean.”
In addition to its efforts in Latin America, MO Global is advancing its growth strategy in Europe, having opened its first store in Portugal on October 8. Located in the Boavista neighborhood of Porto, this store operates under the “Mó Vision & Audio Store” concept, which combines optical and audiology services in one location. The company plans to pursue further openings in strategic locations across Portugal.
