IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced plans to open the Crowne Plaza Hyderabad Shamshabad Airport Road in the first quarter of 2031, marking its debut in the Indian city. The new property will feature 250 rooms, including 37 suites.
The hotel will be developed under a management agreement with AR Infra Consultancy and is strategically located near the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport and the upcoming World Trade Centre. This location aims to serve airport transit passengers, corporate travelers, long-stay guests, and the meetings and events market.
Crowne Plaza Hyderabad will include five food and beverage outlets, featuring an all-day dining restaurant, a specialty restaurant, a bar, a pool bar, and a lobby lounge. Additionally, the hotel will offer 1,170 square meters of meeting and event space across five venues, which includes an 800 square meter ballroom. Other amenities will comprise a club lounge, swimming pool, fitness center, spa, and parking facilities.
The development is situated in Shamshabad, an area experiencing considerable commercial, industrial, and infrastructure growth. In 2025, Rajiv Gandhi International Airport managed approximately 31 million passengers, and with the planned World Trade Centre covering around 325,000 square meters, along with the expansion of the Aeronautical Park, corporate travel demand is anticipated to rise.
This new property adds to IHG’s existing presence in Hyderabad, where the company operates two Holiday Inn Express hotels and is developing an InterContinental property.
