DAVENPORT, Iowa – The Putnam Museum and Science Center will host its annual pumpkin launching event on Sunday, inviting guests to bring their carved jack-o-lanterns for a fun-filled afternoon.
Participants can watch as their pumpkins are catapulted onto the museum’s South Lawn, a highlight of the festivities. This unique event follows Halloween and aims to provide an entertaining experience for families.
In addition to pumpkin launching, the museum will celebrate Dia de los Muertos with activities that include face-painting and art projects. The celebration promises a blend of creativity and cultural remembrance.
Guests will also enjoy sweet treats from Xochimilko and beverages from Tidal Wave Energy throughout the event. Museum officials described the gathering as a lively combination of science, culture, and “messy fun” suitable for attendees of all ages.
The pumpkin launching event is set to take place from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and is free with general admission to the museum. Families are encouraged to participate in this festive and interactive day.
