Madrid, Spain. Spanish business leaders have recognized the Dominican Republic as an appealing destination for foreign investment, citing its stability, legal security, and economic growth.
Víctor Moro, a Spanish executive at Vima Food, commended the nation’s growth potential and skilled workforce, emphasizing that Vima Food employs only Dominican staff. He acknowledged recent government measures aimed at fostering business development and creating jobs.
Núria Vilanova, another business leader, attributed the Dominican Republic’s robust progress in tourism, industry, and free trade zones to the effective leadership of President Luis Abinader’s administration.
President Abinader noted that Spain ranks as one of the Dominican Republic’s primary economic partners and is the third-largest source of foreign investment, contributing approximately $5.328 billion from 2010 to 2025. He pointed out areas ripe for investment, including tourism, logistics, renewable energy, technology, industry, and services.
Foreign Minister Víctor Ito Bisonó stated that government policies have enhanced macroeconomic stability and boosted productive capacity. He reported a 4.6% economic growth from January to September 2026, driven by sectors such as construction, free trade zones, tourism, and services.
Other business leaders echoed the sentiment, describing the Dominican Republic as a stable and dynamic market with favorable conditions for continued economic growth and investment opportunities.
