The African Collaborations Group (ACG) has appointed Mike Dada to its Advisory Board, enhancing the organization’s focus on the industrialization of sports in Africa. ACG is a strategic platform aimed at developing sustainable sport and entertainment district ecosystems across the continent.
Mike Dada is the President and Founder of the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA), a prominent platform established in 2014 in collaboration with the African Union Commission (AUC) to celebrate and promote African music globally. AFRIMA has gained recognition for its extensive reach, broadcasting in over 84 countries and uniting artists, delegates, and production teams from various regions in Africa.
In addition to his role with AFRIMA, Dada is the Vice President of the African Union’s Pan-African Congress. He played a crucial role in developing the AU’s Plan of Action on Culture and Creative Industries, a comprehensive policy document adopted by the African Union Heads of State Summit in 2023. This plan serves as a framework to guide the industrialization of Africa’s cultural and creative economy.
Dada’s appointment to the ACG Advisory Board is designed to integrate the realms of sports and entertainment, establishing a cohesive ecosystem that supports Africa’s creative economy. His involvement is seen as a strategic asset, connecting ACG’s initiatives with top institutional frameworks and networks within the pan-African music industry.
Nicolas Pompigne-Mognard, Founder and Executive Chairman of ACG, stated, “Mike Dada brings a rare combination of continental cultural infrastructure leadership and Heads of State-level policy positioning. His experience with AFRIMA and the AU underscores the kind of expertise we need to develop bankable sport and entertainment district ecosystems across Africa.”
The ACG Advisory Board is crucial for guiding the organization’s efforts to initiate and structure large-scale projects in sports and entertainment. This initiative aligns key stakeholders, including governments, investors, and sports bodies, to foster the development of sustainable mixed-use district ecosystems.
With Africa’s sport economy expected to reach $20 billion by 2035, ACG aims to fill the current gap in integrated ecosystem development. The organization focuses on creating economically viable projects that extend beyond traditional venue models, ensuring a robust framework for the continent’s burgeoning entertainment industry.
Through collaborative partnerships, ACG sets the stage for transforming concepts into feasible, bankable projects, addressing the need for a comprehensive approach to the sports sector in Africa.
