Arajet has achieved a significant milestone by becoming the second-largest airline by passenger traffic in the Dominican Republic, according to data released by the country’s Civil Aviation Board (JAC). In September 2026, the airline transported 158,407 passengers, excluding connecting flights, placing it behind only JetBlue, which led with 243,955 passengers.
This represents a 62% increase from September 2025, when Arajet carried 97,797 passengers. Inclusive of connecting passengers, the airline’s total for the month reached 180,841, showcasing its growth in the competitive aviation sector.
Arajet surpassed Copa Airlines, which reported 122,220 passengers, and American Airlines, which carried 115,406 passengers. Delta Air Lines documented 94,763 passengers, while United Airlines followed closely with 94,288.
The majority of passengers transported by Arajet in September originated from the United States, with 43,021 travelers. Colombia contributed 35,413 passengers, and Argentina accounted for 21,164, making these the airline’s top three markets. Mexico ranked fourth with 16,356 passengers, and Puerto Rico, Peru, Brazil, and Canada also featured in their passenger traffic statistics.
In terms of individual routes, Bogotá, Colombia, led with 18,413 passengers, followed by Newark, New Jersey, with 16,952 passengers, and Buenos Aires, Argentina, with 16,025. Miami, Medellín, Santa Lucía, San Juan, Lima, and São Paulo also ranked among the airline’s busiest destinations.
Víctor Pacheco, CEO and founder of Arajet, expressed pride in the airline’s rapid evolution since it began operations in 2022. He emphasized that Arajet is proving that a Dominican airline can effectively compete with major international players and contribute to establishing the Dominican Republic as an important aviation hub in the Americas.
Pacheco reiterated Arajet’s commitment to enhancing air connectivity, offering competitive fares, and facilitating travel throughout the Americas via the Dominican Republic. He noted that these achievements highlight the country’s potential to become a leading center for air connectivity in the region.
