Elon Musk introduced Tesla’s new electric Roadster during an event near Waco, Texas, highlighting its performance and unique engineering features. The unveiling drew considerable attention, particularly due to the vehicle’s innovative propulsion system, which integrates cold-gas thrusters.
During the demonstration, Musk suggested that innovations in the Roadster lead to possibilities such as flying cars, stating, “Flying cars are real.” However, Tesla clarified that the Roadster’s design is not yet approved for public roads and will only be available through invitation, as reported by Car Dealership Guy News.
The Roadster will offer various trims, including Roadster, Performance, Thrust, and Rocket. The Thrust trim features onboard gas thrusters and accommodates a compressed gas tank with a capacity of 200 liters, as per the Saudi شفت report. This system is designed to provide both forward and upward acceleration in addition to lateral movement.
The vehicle aims for impressive speed, with official sources confirming a target range between 370 and 483 km/h. However, the gas thrusters consume their energy within just six seconds, after which the vehicle would rely solely on its electric motors.
Customers interested in the Roadster can place reservations, but Tesla has advised that it cannot guarantee delivery, as the vehicle remains in development. According to a report from Vietnam.vn, the reservation agreement emphasizes that deposits are only for reserving a position in the purchase queue, and while a security deposit is required, it is fully refundable if customers change their minds or if Tesla fails to fulfill the order.
Details regarding the official purchase price and specifications of the Roadster have not yet been released, and changes to these elements are possible before the anticipated launch in 2028.
As the situation develops, further updates from Tesla are expected leading up to the product’s eventual release.
