La Aurora, the oldest cigarmaker in the Dominican Republic, has announced the release of new limited edition cigars under its Preferidos Hors d’Age and Puro Vintage brands. The three new offerings feature aged tobaccos and are set to captivate cigar enthusiasts when they hit the market later this month.
The Puro Vintage 2016, one of the highlights of this release, is characterized by its unique blend of tobaccos from five countries. It features an Ecuador Havana wrapper, a Brazilian binder, and filler tobaccos sourced from the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, and Colombia, all harvested in 2016. This medium-to-full-bodied cigar comes in a Salomon size measuring 6 1/2 inches long with a 60 ring gauge at its thickest point. La Aurora plans to ship 700 boxes, each containing eight cigars, in mid to late October, with a retail price of $28 per cigar or $224 per box.
The Hors d’Age 2025, named after the Cognac term meaning “beyond age,” adds a distinct touch to La Aurora’s lineup. Each leaf in this blend has been aged for a minimum of 12 years, contributing to its refined profile. The cigar includes an Ecuador Sumatra wrapper and binder, along with filler tobaccos from Colombia, Nicaragua, and the Dominican Republic. It is available in two sizes: a 5 3/4-by-54 Toro and a 6 7/8-by-40 Lancero. The Toro is priced at $31.50, while the Lancero is suggested to retail for $25 each. Production is limited to 500 boxes of the Lancero and 700 of the Toro, with shipments expected in late October.
All of La Aurora’s cigars, including the new Puro Vintage and Hors d’Age, are produced in the company’s factory located in Santiago, Dominican Republic. This latest release highlights La Aurora’s commitment to craftsmanship and quality in the world of premium cigars.
