NEUMAN & ESSER, a German engineering group with nearly 200 years of experience, is expanding its presence in Africa by establishing an Authorized Service Center in Port Harcourt, Nigeria, in partnership with MILAT Nigeria. This initiative is part of the company’s strategy to offer comprehensive service support and reduce reliance on international technical assistance.
The new service center enhances NEUMAN & ESSER’s existing capabilities in South Africa and aims to provide compressor maintenance, repairs, and engineering support to customers in Nigeria and surrounding regions. Dr. Jiří Rus, Sales Director for Africa, emphasizes that this step is a continuation of the company’s commitment to fostering local expertise and sustainability in the African industrial sector.
Dr. Rus highlights the growing demand for local partnerships in the region, stating, “African markets are looking for more than equipment suppliers. They need dependable partners who understand local operating conditions.” He recently visited Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, and Senegal, where he identified a strong desire for reliable energy sources and skilled support, which are crucial for industrial development.
NEUMAN & ESSER’s activities focus on various sectors, including oil and gas, refining, and alternative energy technologies. The company is particularly interested in enhancing gas utilization and flare-gas recovery processes, aligning with Africa’s industrial ambitions while also addressing immediate energy needs.
The Authorized Service Center in Nigeria is positioned to play a key role in supporting Nigeria’s growing industrial market, which is vital for local economic growth. According to Dr. Rus, “Port Harcourt extends this model into West Africa,” as the company works to ensure that technical support and training are available locally, thereby expediting service lead times.
NEUMAN & ESSER aims to provide a holistic approach, focusing not just on initial equipment sales, but on creating long-term value for its clients through comprehensive aftermarket services and local talent development. “Our objective is not simply to sell equipment, but to provide commercially sound solutions that create measurable long-term value,” Dr. Rus added.
As the company continues to establish and enhance its operations throughout Africa, it remains committed to fostering partnerships, training local engineers, and expanding its service network. Dr. Rus’s vision for the future includes growing NEUMAN & ESSER’s footprint across the continent, contributing to sustainable industrial practices and empowering local professionals.
