Mauritius-based hospitality group The Lux Collective (TLC) is set to expand its global footprint by entering the Middle East and launching multiple properties across China and Southeast Asia. Several openings are planned between 2027 and 2030.
TLC currently operates 15 resorts in Mauritius, the Maldives, Réunion, Tanzania, Rwanda, and China. The company is focusing on its Lux*, Salt, and Socio brands, as well as its branded residences offerings to reach new markets. Among the most noteworthy developments are the openings of Lux* Al Bridi and Lux* Khorfakkan in Sharjah, both slated for the fourth quarter of 2027.
Paul Mulcahy, chief commercial officer of The Lux Collective, expressed confidence in the Middle East’s resilience amid geopolitical uncertainties. He noted that the region has a history of quick recovery from disruptions. “Domestic markets like the GCC will be important for our Sharjah debut as the properties are well positioned for staycations or weekend travel. We are also focusing on the European markets,” Mulcahy told TTG Asia.
TLC’s Socio brand will make its regional debut in Oman, with an opening targeted for the third quarter of 2030. Additionally, Elire Managed by Lux*, which marks the group’s entry into branded residences in the Middle East, is scheduled to open in Dubai during the first quarter of 2029.
In China, TLC is continuing its growth strategy with plans for Lux* On The Bund Shanghai, set to open in the second quarter of 2027. This hotel will provide guests with views of the Bund, the Huangpu River, and the Shanghai skyline. Mulcahy emphasized that this will be TLC’s first foray into one of China’s major cities and will feature a yacht for evening excursions.
The expansion pipeline also includes Lux* Guangzhou, an urban resort in Huangpu District, which is anticipated to open in the first quarter of 2028. This property is designed to serve as a retreat within the city. Additionally, TLC plans to enhance its presence in China’s natural and cultural destinations with Lux* Shaoguan in northern Guangdong, expected to open by the fourth quarter of 2028. The group is also set to introduce Salt of Mount Siguniang in Sichuan province, which will be the first international property in the vicinity of Mount Siguniang National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with an opening planned for the fourth quarter of 2028.
In Southeast Asia, TLC is looking to expand into Indonesia and Vietnam. Salt of Virgin Beach in Bali, set for the third quarter of 2028, will be the group’s first property in Indonesia. Meanwhile, Luxnam* Phu Quoc is scheduled to open in Vietnam’s first quarter of 2028, marking the introduction of the country’s first overwater resort.
