Innovative Screen Enhances Bluetooth Audio Experience
Twelve South has introduced the Airfly View, a Bluetooth transmitter designed to connect wireless headphones to non-Bluetooth audio sources like seatback screens or exercise equipment. Unlike most similar devices that lack screens, the Airfly View incorporates a hidden display, facilitating a more user-friendly pairing process for headphones.
The device features a matte plastic body available in black or dark blue, with a screen that is only visible when in use. This display guides users through pairing their headphones and indicates connection status, eliminating guesswork. Users navigate options with volume buttons on the right side and select choices with a button on the left. While functional, the buttons do not provide a particularly tactile response.
The transmitter automatically detects headphones or speakers in Bluetooth pairing mode, connecting within seconds. Once linked, audio from the wired source streams directly to the headphones. The Airfly View can connect to two wireless headphones simultaneously, making it easy to share audio with another listener.
Compact Design Ideal for Travel
Measuring approximately 2 ⅛ inches tall (including a 2-inch audio cable), 1 ⅜ inches wide, and less than half an inch thick, the Airfly View is portable enough to fit in pockets or bags. Twelve South includes a carrying case, a two-prong international airline adapter, and a USB-A-to-USB-C charging cable, all organized with elastic straps. The device has a battery life of up to 16 hours, and users can monitor battery status through an on-screen meter.
