The University of Utah’s football program received a significant boost in its recruiting efforts as Manase Brown, a high three-star offensive tackle from Corner Canyon High, announced his commitment to the Utes on Monday morning.
Standing at 6 feet 7 inches and weighing 275 pounds, Brown has garnered attention for his athleticism and talent on the field, holding a prospect rating of 0.8800 according to 247 Sports’ composite rankings. He is recognized as the eighth-ranked recruit in Utah’s 2027 class.
Brown initially committed to Fresno State over the summer but recently updated his commitment status, allowing him to consider offers from a final five that included BYU, USC, Michigan, and Arizona. His decision was made official during a ceremony at Corner Canyon, where he expressed enthusiasm about joining Utah. “I’m really excited about my decision,” he told Rivals’ Greg Biggins. “I really feel Utah is the best spot for me, all around. They have a very special thing going on right now, and I’m excited to be a part of that.”
In addition to football, Brown is a dual-sport athlete, also playing basketball for the Chargers. Throughout his high school career, he has played various positions, including tight end and defensive end. He took an official visit to Utah on October 10 for the Utes’ game against Kansas.
With Brown’s commitment, he becomes the fourth offensive lineman to join Utah’s 2027 recruiting class. He will be coached by Jordan Gross, the Utes’ first-year offensive line assistant and an eighth overall pick in the 2003 NFL Draft. Brown is currently the second-best prospect for Utah in next year’s class, following four-star wide receiver Jaxton Itaaehau.
Brown’s commitment marks the third from Corner Canyon High for the Utes this recruiting cycle, joining safety Diesel Dart and athlete Jackson West, who also plays on both sides of the line.
