Veralto Corporation Sets Ambitious Climate Goals Following SBTi Validation
WALTHAM, Mass. — On September 17, 2026, Veralto Corporation announced that its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction targets have been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). This validation marks a significant milestone in the company’s ongoing commitment to addressing climate change through scientific benchmarks.
Details of the New Climate Targets
Veralto’s newly established targets aim to enhance its sustainability practices over the coming years. The company commits to ensuring that 60% of its suppliers will adopt science-based targets by the year 2030. Additionally, Veralto plans to reduce Scope 3 GHG emissions from the use of its sold products by 61% per USD value added by 2033, using 2024 as a baseline.
Alongside these new commitments, Veralto has reaffirmed its earlier announcement that it aims for a 54.6% reduction in combined Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 2033, based on a 2023 baseline year.
Jennifer L. Honeycutt, the President and Chief Executive Officer of Veralto, stated that these targets reflect the company’s dedication to significant emissions reductions while providing value to customers and protecting the environment for future generations. She emphasized that the validation from SBTi confirms alignment with a climate change scenario that limits global warming to 1.5°C.
Surekha Trivedi, Senior Vice President of Strategy and Sustainability at Veralto, highlighted the company’s ongoing progress in sustainable practices, noting a 22% reduction in total Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions since 2023. This reduction has been achieved through increased renewable energy adoption, enhanced energy efficiency, and the incorporation of electric and hybrid service vehicles.
Veralto’s commitment to sustainability comes amid global efforts to combat climate change and reduce carbon footprints across various industries. The newly validated targets represent the organization’s strategy to not only meet immediate environmental goals but also accommodate future growth while maintaining an environmentally responsible approach.
Why It Matters
The validation of Veralto’s climate targets signifies the company’s proactive stance in fulfilling global sustainability objectives. As climate change remains a critical issue, initiatives like those taken by Veralto can drive substantial changes in corporate practices, influence supply chain sustainability, and contribute to broader efforts aimed at meeting international climate agreements.
