Yazen, a digital health company focused on treating obesity, has successfully secured EUR 50 million in a funding round led by growth investor Verdane. Evli Growth Partners, the company’s previous lead investor, also participated in this latest funding effort.
The new capital will be utilized to further expand Yazen’s treatment model across Europe. According to the company, this model treats obesity as a chronic disease. Yazen, headquartered in Sweden, currently operates in eight European countries, including Norway.
The company’s approach integrates weight-loss medication with continuous digital follow-up from a multidisciplinary care team. Yazen reports that over 50,000 patients are currently receiving active treatment, while more than 70,000 individuals have benefited from its services overall.
Yazen’s CEO, Fredrik Meurling, commented on the funding, stating, “We can now build on a European health platform that can help hundreds of thousands of patients achieve better and more lasting health while easing the pressure on public health care.”
Cecilia Nytorp, a principal at Verdane, expressed her support for the company, saying, “We look forward to supporting Yazen as a long-term partner as the company continues to deliver measurable improvements that can make a major difference to people’s health and lives.”
With this financial boost, Yazen plans to enhance its innovative approach to obesity care, aiming for a broader impact on public health across Europe.
