SITA has announced an agreement to acquire the airport technology division of Collins Aerospace, with the deal expected to close in the first half of 2027. The financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Collins Aerospace and SITA both specialize in technology solutions aimed at enhancing passenger movement through airports. Collins Aerospace, a subsidiary of RTX, markets its airport technology business as providing “integrated and intelligent solutions” for passenger processing, airport operations, and baggage management. Their self-service technology is particularly aimed at streamlining the movement of high passenger volumes.
David Lavorel, CEO of SITA, stated that this acquisition will enhance the company’s capabilities. He emphasized the growing need for technology and innovation to improve the passenger journey and maintain operational efficiency. “Our industry increasingly needs technology, innovation and people working together to connect each part of the journey,” Lavorel said. “Disruptions are prevented, or fixed fast when they happen.”
With this deal, SITA aims to strengthen its position in the airport technology sector, further expanding its portfolio of solutions designed to meet the evolving needs of the aviation industry.
