DXC Technology has announced a collaboration with LangChain, integrating LangGraph and LangSmith into its OASIS platform. This partnership aims to enhance the deployment of governed AI agents in critical IT environments, with 125 customer implementations already underway.
According to the company, the integration of LangChain technology into the OASIS platform is designed to significantly reduce incident resolution times, decreasing the wait from days to just minutes. DXC emphasizes that human approval will still be required for sensitive decisions, maintaining a comprehensive audit trail of actions taken.
Impact on AI Execution Narrative
This collaboration could reshape perceptions surrounding DXC Technology’s approach to AI implementation. Analysts suggest that the shift from traditional, labor-intensive IT contracts to AI-based platforms might help stabilize the company’s revenue and improve profit margins. However, some experts caution that while the LangChain partnership strengthens execution efforts, it does not directly address existing challenges, such as declining revenues and low profit margins.
In the short term, the success of DXC’s strategy may hinge on whether new AI bookings and deployments can translate into steady organic revenue growth. Currently, the company anticipates a revenue decline of 3% to 5%. There are concerns that legacy services in Global Infrastructure may continue to decline more rapidly than the growth anticipated from new platforms like OASIS and CoreIgnite. High debt levels and ongoing legal issues further complicate the company’s financial flexibility.
The recent announcement regarding the Assure Platform, which focuses on the insurance sector, aligns with the OASIS and LangChain developments. This initiative signifies DXC’s commitment to using governed AI and workflow automation in critical environments, as opposed to pursuing more commoditized IT outsourcing.
DXC Technology plans to integrate AI and automation into the Assure platform and the London Market Core Platform, demonstrating a strategy aimed at enhancing efficiency and driving recurring revenue through software and SaaS offerings. These efforts could potentially counterbalance revenue losses in traditional segments.
Current estimates predict DXC’s revenue will reach approximately $11.9 billion with earnings of $169.4 million by 2029. This projection assumes a yearly revenue decline of 1.7%, alongside a projected earnings increase of $45.4 million from current results.
While some analysts express optimism, forecasting earnings as high as $186.9 million on $12.3 billion in sales by 2029, this outlook predates the LangChain partnership and may evolve as more data emerges.
DXC Technology’s stock currently shows a potential downside of 12% from its fair value, signaling that the present valuation may not be sustainable amid changing market conditions.
