NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Fernando Gonzalez Ramirez, a 32-year-old Panamanian man, was arrested in the Dominican Republic in connection with charges of sexual assault against minors in Franklin, Tennessee. The alleged incidents occurred between 2023 and 2024 while Gonzalez was involved in a youth baseball program.
Gonzalez fled Tennessee after being made aware of the investigation against him, which began following reports from two boys who claimed they were assaulted. According to the U.S. Marshals Service, Gonzalez traveled to Mexico, Japan, and Panama before authorities confirmed he was in the Dominican Republic. They acted on this information and arrested him within hours of his location being identified.
After his arrest, Gonzalez was flown to New Jersey on Tuesday evening and is now awaiting extradition to Tennessee, where he faces several state charges in Williamson County. Investigators believe there may be additional unidentified victims and have urged anyone with information about Gonzalez to come forward.
The U.S. Marshals Service is continuing its investigation as officials work to support the case brought forward by the Franklin Police Department. The prosecution of Gonzalez’s charges will be handled by the Office of Stacey B. Edmonson, district attorney general for Tennessee’s 21st Judicial District.
