Arajet has reached a significant milestone, transporting five million passengers since its launch in September 2022. This achievement not only reflects the airline’s rapid expansion but also strengthens the Dominican Republic’s status as a key tourist destination and air transport hub in the Americas.
The airline reported that this accomplishment allows it to enhance its network, which now includes over 30 destinations across 17 countries. Arajet’s primary hubs are located in Santo Domingo and Punta Cana, connecting travelers from North America, Central America, South America, and the Caribbean.
In terms of passenger growth, Arajet noted a steady increase in volume. In 2025, the airline transported 1,480,278 passengers, marking a 37% rise compared to the previous year. In the first half of 2026, Arajet carried 1,022,593 passengers, a significant increase of 63.7% from 624,706 in the same period of 2025.
“Reaching five million passengers demonstrates the trust we have built and the opportunity it represents for the Dominican Republic to have an airline capable of connecting the Americas,” said Víctor Pacheco, CEO and founder of Arajet. He emphasized that each new route enhances the potential to attract visitors and promotes economic activity in the country.
This increased connectivity benefits the Dominican tourism sector by providing more opportunities to draw visitors and enhancing the country’s offerings in accommodation, dining, excursions, transportation, and commerce. The operational routes between Santo Domingo and Punta Cana serve different travel purposes, accommodating beach vacations, cultural tours, business trips, and family visits.
Furthermore, Arajet’s network facilitates regional travel, connecting cities that require additional transport options and promoting tourism and trade across the continent.
To celebrate the five millionth passenger, Arajet recognized an individual who traveled to New York as part of the milestone. During a special interactive event with Dominican content creator Semipopi, the airline awarded the passenger a round-trip ticket to any of Arajet’s destinations.
