American Airlines has resumed nonstop service to Haiti, launching its Miami–Cap-Haïtien route today. This development reinstates a vital connection between South Florida and Haiti’s northern coast.
The new flights operate daily using Boeing 737 aircraft, providing travelers with access to American’s extensive network through its Miami hub. The launch of this route follows American’s earlier announcement in June about the plans to return, which has culminated in the daily service now available.
The daily service allows for flexible travel options, accommodating different departure and return dates for passengers. Each flight includes premium cabin seating and complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi, as stated by the airline.
American Airlines emphasized its relationship with the Haitian community in South Florida during the launch-day celebration, highlighting the significance of this route for families and individuals looking to connect with relatives in northern Haiti. This service provides a direct option for those attending family occasions or returning home, with South Florida’s Haitian community benefiting from yet another nonstop flight to their homeland.
In addition to American Airlines, Sunrise Airways also operates on this corridor, giving passengers more choices for scheduling and available seats. Cap-Haïtien serves as a critical entry point to Haiti’s northern coast, especially amid ongoing restrictions on flights to the capital, Port-au-Prince, where airline operations from the U.S. remain limited.
As of now, American Airlines has not resumed flights into Port-au-Prince, making today’s launch a significant return to air travel for northern Haiti. The daily Miami–Cap-Haïtien flights mark a notable re-establishment of service following months of anticipation from travelers.
