Casa Carrillo, a two-time Cigar of the Year winner, is set to launch a new version of its limited-edition brand, Battleborn, which honors United States Armed Forces veterans. The new cigar, titled Battleborn Heroes, expands its tribute to include active military personnel, police officers, firefighters, and first responders. The debut is scheduled for a series of Old Virginia Tobacco Company events in Virginia this week, with retail distribution starting before Veterans Day on November 11.
Battleborn Heroes is crafted as a single-size cigar, measuring 6 inches with a 52 ring gauge. It features an African Cameroon wrapper, complemented by two binders—one from the Dominican Republic and the other from Nicaragua. The filler consists of a blend of Dominican and Nicaraguan tobaccos.
The cigars carry a suggested retail price of $21 each and will be packaged in boxes of 21, each individually numbered and accompanied by a Battleborn dog tag. Casa Carrillo highlights that the number 21 pays homage to the 21-gun salute, a military honor reserved for select leaders and ceremonial occasions. This limited-edition release is capped at 2,000 boxes, equating to 42,000 cigars. All Battleborn Heroes cigars will be produced at the Casa Carrillo factory located in the Dominican Republic.
