The Philadelphia Eagles, fresh from their Super Bowl LIX victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in February 2025, are entering the new season with renewed confidence. After facing disappointment by not returning to the Super Bowl last season, the Eagles have been assessed as having significant potential to contend once again, according to NFL analysts.
Offensive Line Rankings Boost Optimism
Recent evaluations of NFL teams have highlighted the Eagles’ offensive line, which was ranked second in the official 2026 NFL offensive line rankings released by PFF. This ranking places them just below the Denver Broncos, indicating a strong foundation for the team as they enter the upcoming season.
Analyst Gordon McGuinness pointed out that while there’s been a change in coaching staff, with offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland departing, the Eagles are maintaining their core offensive unit. The team’s starting five has remained intact, which is a critical advantage as many other teams may face instability or adjustments in their lineups.
Notably, right tackle Lane Johnson has suggested that this may be his final season in the NFL. Johnson has been recognized for his outstanding performance, achieving a pass-blocking grade above 80.0 over six consecutive seasons while allowing only seven pressures from 262 pass-blocking snaps last year. His reliable presence on the line serves as a pivotal element for the Eagles’ offensive strategy.
The continuity in their offensive lineup amidst coaching changes provides the Eagles with a strategic edge, particularly in a league where retaining core players is a challenge. This stability is likely to benefit their overall performance in the upcoming season.
Why It Matters
The positive evaluation of the Eagles’ offensive line positions them as a formidable team in the NFL landscape heading into the new season. As they aim to reclaim their status among the league’s elite, this strong offensive foundation may play a crucial role in their quest to return to the Super Bowl and build on their recent championship success.
