The Dominican Republic will host the PGA Tour Americas final for the first time, taking place at PGA Ocean’s 4 in the Playa Nueva Romana community from October 15 to 18, 2026. This event, known as the Dominican Republic Tour Championship presented by Scotiabank, will feature the top 60 players from the tour competing over four rounds without a cut, with ten Korn Ferry Tour cards for the 2027 season on the line.
PGA Ocean’s 4 is the only golf course in the country with a PGA of America alliance. This collaboration connects it to the PGA Riviera Maya at Tulum Country Club, paving the way for the Tulum Championship featuring the best players from this final. A total purse of $225,000 and 600 points are at stake for competitors.
A PGA Tour Americas final where everyone still has a chance
The champion of the PGA Tour Americas final will receive 600 points, exceeding the typical 500 points awarded at standard events. Additionally, players finishing in the top ten on the PGA Tour Americas Points List, referred to as The 10, will gain an exemption into the Final Stage of PGA Tour Q-School presented by Korn Ferry.
Cam Crawford, PGA Tour Chief Referee, remarked, “What sets this final apart is that everyone still has a chance. Even the player who arrives in 60th place can win and finish inside The 10. Every round will have a direct impact on the race to the Korn Ferry Tour.” He emphasized the excellent condition and infrastructure of PGA Ocean’s 4 for this event.
“Two countries, two courses and one strategy”

During the press conference, Gonzalo Pan de Soraluce, Global Director of Golf at Piñero’s Real Estate & Golf division, highlighted the importance of the event for regional golf. He stated, “Bringing the PGA Tour Americas final to the Dominican Republic allows us to show PGA Ocean’s 4 to the world and sustain sports tourism that attracts investment and develops talent.”
A Latin American flavour in the PGA Tour Americas field

The press conference featured Mexican golfer Omar Morales, 23, from Puebla, who noted that the course is in great condition, especially the holes by the sea. Argentinian contestant Mateo Fernández de Oliveira, currently 16th on the PGA Tour Americas Points List, expressed excitement about competing in a new environment, saying, “Ocean’s 4 is a course that will test us players very well.”
Scotiabank and the Ministry of Tourism, behind sports tourism

Claudia Cueli, Vice President of Commercial and Corporate Banking at Scotiabank Dominican Republic, emphasized the bank’s support for the event, saying it reflects confidence in the country’s potential for sports tourism. Jean Carlos Navarro, head of Sports Tourism at the Dominican Republic Ministry of Tourism, commended Piñero and PGA Ocean’s 4 for their commitment to enhancing sports tourism in the Caribbean region.
