Game Highlights
The U.S. team opened the scoring in the second inning, with Bryant Ju hitting a solo home run. The momentum continued in the third inning as Team USA added five more runs, establishing a lead that they maintained throughout the game. The U.S. team’s pitching strategy involved multiple pitchers, including Michael Ohman, who allowed two runs in two innings, and Noah Vrzal, who helped secure the win with an effective outing that included a critical double play.
Lathan Boddie and Jaxxon Hanen later contributed from the bullpen, with Hanen striking out three batters while allowing just one earned run. Jackson McAneely closed the game, delivering a hitless inning to earn his second save of the tournament.
With this victory, the United States improved its overall record to 6-0 and remained undefeated in the Super Round at 3-0. They will next face Mexico in their second Super Round contest on October 2, with the game scheduled for 7:30 p.m. local time (9:30 p.m. ET).
