Four Seasons is set to open its first resort in the Dominican Republic in mid-2027. Located on Playa Esmeralda in Miches, the Four Seasons Resort and Residences Dominican Republic at Tropicalia will feature 95 guest rooms, including 21 suites and 25 residences.
The resort will offer a comprehensive vacation experience, with plans for eight restaurants and lounges, three pools, and a large spa. Guests can also participate in various excursions, including activities in local forests, water sports, and visits to a working farm.
A Four Seasons Debut in Miches
The addition of Four Seasons to Miches highlights the area’s growing appeal as a luxury destination. Previously, the region has welcomed other high-end options, such as Hilton’s Zemi Miches and upcoming development plans for JW Marriott and Autograph Collection hotels.
With fewer than 100 rooms, the Four Seasons is poised to provide an intimate experience alongside the extensive amenities planned. The property will sit in an area characterized by secluded beaches, as described by the company.
At Playa Esmeralda, water activities available to guests will include kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, and water biking, allowing visitors to fully engage with the ocean environment.
Eight Restaurants and Lounges
The resort plans to feature eight dining options, although details about specific venues and menus have yet to be revealed. A key partnership is evident through La Querencia, a farm owned by the Cisneros family, which will supply many of the ingredients used throughout the resort’s culinary offerings.
Guests will have opportunities to engage with the farm directly, learning about local agriculture while also enjoying fresh ingredients in their meals. This connection may enhance the dining experience as more information emerges on restaurant concepts and executive chefs.
Three Pools and a Spa
In addition to its beach access, the resort will include three pools and a comprehensive wellness center that will feature eight treatment rooms, with two specifically designed for couples. A yoga pavilion and a racquet sports center are also part of the wellness offerings.
Outdoor activities are planned to complement the resort’s coastal location, featuring hiking, mountain biking, and guided nature explorations. This invites guests to immerse themselves in the local landscape, balancing relaxation with adventure.
A Family Resort With More to Explore
The resort is designed with families in mind, featuring a Kids For All Seasons center and a dedicated space for teenagers to engage in activities tailored to their age groups. In addition to pools and ocean excursions, these facilities underscore the resort’s aim to cater to all ages.
Guided marine experiences, including snorkeling and sailing, will be available, focusing on the vibrant local ecosystem that includes species such as humpback whales and sea turtles, with availability dependent on seasonal factors.
On land, cultural experiences tied to Fundación Tropicalia will encourage conservation and community engagement, reinforcing the resort’s commitment to its local environment. The opening of Four Seasons Resort and Residences Dominican Republic at Tropicalia is anticipated in mid-2027, with specifics regarding the launch still to be confirmed.
