VaynerMedia has announced the appointment of Anita Munro as the new managing director for the Asia Pacific region, effective January. She succeeds Tim Lindley, who has led the region for six years and will be stepping down at the end of the year.
Lindley joined VaynerMedia in 2020 as head of strategy and was promoted to managing director within six months. During his tenure, he oversaw the agency’s expansion to eight offices across major markets including Singapore, Australia, India, and Japan. He played a significant role in driving commercial growth and building a diverse client roster that includes companies such as Grab, Cathay Pacific, and SharkNinja. Lindley also established VaynerMedia’s integrated marketing model, combining strategy, creative, media, and production services.
“Earlier in the year, Tim let me know he was excited about exploring new opportunities and challenges. While heartbroken because I’ve loved our time together, I’m excited about the opportunity to continue building on the foundation we’ve established in the region with Anita’s addition,” said Gary Vaynerchuk, chairman and CEO of VaynerX and CEO of VaynerMedia.
Lindley expressed pride in the work accomplished by his team, stating, “This team held to Gary’s vision to get the model right, even when easier paths were on the table, and I couldn’t be prouder of what they’ve built. Under Anita, the best is still ahead.”
Anita Munro joins VaynerMedia with over 20 years of leadership experience in the Asia Pacific market, previously serving as CEO of Thailand for WPP Media. Her career includes roles as GroupM’s chief investment officer and chair of the APAC Investment Council. She is also a co-founding partner of Campaign Asia’s Leading Change programme, which aims to promote women in leadership across the industry. In her new role, Munro is expected to drive regional growth and lead VaynerMedia into its next chapter.
Marcus Krzastek, president international at VaynerMedia, remarked, “Tim has played a massive role in VaynerMedia’s growth in the APAC region over the last six years… I can’t think of someone better than Anita to step into things.”
Munro expressed enthusiasm for her new position, stating, “I’m thrilled to be joining VaynerMedia at such an exciting moment for the business… I’m looking forward to building on the momentum already established across the region.”
Tim Lindley will remain with VaynerMedia through December to facilitate a smooth transition before exploring new ventures in the coming year.
