Stanton University is enhancing its educational offerings by integrating technology and industry insights into student learning. The university recently held two seminars focused on the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) across various sectors, providing students with practical knowledge and skills applicable to the modern workforce.
The Systems Thinking Seminar, organized by the Information Systems Management (ISM) Club, featured Karthik Kumar Odapally, Principal of Applied AI for Media at Amazon. Odapally introduced systems thinking concepts, emphasizing the interplay between people, processes, and technology in solving business challenges. Attendees learned to identify root causes and assess connections among different components, ultimately making more informed decisions. This seminar aimed to enhance students’ critical thinking, analytical reasoning, and problem-solving abilities, valuable across multiple industries.
Another seminar, titled “Beyond the Headset: How AI Is Shaping the Future of 911 and Public Safety,” was led by Samantha Hawkins, ECC Engagement Lead at ThisGen 911. This session delved into the ways AI is revolutionizing emergency communications, recruitment, and training in public safety. Students were introduced to the responsible use of AI and emerging career paths in this field. A notable part of the event was an interactive simulation of a 911 call, providing participants with a practical understanding of emergency response dynamics and the supporting role of technology.
These seminars illustrate Stanton University’s commitment to bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world applications. As technology continues to evolve, the university aims to equip students with the necessary skills and insights to thrive in a rapidly changing environment. Future seminars and events will build on this foundation, emphasizing the importance of innovation and technology in diverse sectors.
Stanton University is dedicated to fostering student engagement through educational experiences that prepare graduates for success in a technology-driven world.
