SLB OneSubsea has successfully concluded the Brazil All-Electric Joint Industry Project, a collaboration with TotalEnergies, Equinor, bp, and Chevron. This initiative focused on developing fully electric subsea production technologies for deepwater projects in depths reaching up to 3,000 meters.
The project involved qualifying electric components and control systems, showcasing an integrated architecture that connects subsea equipment, electric well completions, topside controls, and digital systems. By transitioning from traditional hydraulic actuation to electric systems, this technology aims to simplify subsea infrastructure, reduce complexity, and facilitate longer tiebacks and remote field operations.
SLB OneSubsea highlighted that the advancements made in this project build on over 15 years of experience in subsea electrification. The firm anticipates that these developments will pave the way for future commercial deployment of fully electric subsea production systems.
This comprehensive project represents a significant step toward enhancing the efficiency and sustainability of offshore energy production.
