Shanghai XunBo Technology Co. has begun mass production of two Continuous Damping Control (CDC) solenoid valve projects at its facility in Changzhou, aimed at a leading domestic automaker. The start-of-production (SOP) ceremony marks a significant achievement for the company, as both projects are being launched concurrently.
These solenoid valves play a vital role in adjustable dampers by regulating oil flow and adjusting aperture, which directly impacts vehicle handling stability and ride comfort. The simultaneous mass production of both projects demonstrates XunBo’s enhanced capability to produce these components at scale.
The development of the two projects traces back to initial discussions in the summer of 2025, during which XunBo secured contracts following successful sample submissions and collaborative vehicle performance verification. Official development commenced in early 2026, encompassing critical phases such as Design Verification (DV) and Production Verification (PV), alongside joint work on vehicle tuning and optimization.
XunBo’s production processes are rigorous, featuring more than 120 hardware-based error-proofing points that encompass material control, operational procedures, and performance testing. Additionally, the company has implemented a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) that assigns unique traceability codes to each solenoid valve. This system facilitates real-time monitoring of process parameters and ensures comprehensive traceability. A pilot-stage flow adjustment process is also utilized to calibrate the flow rate for each unit produced.
Traditionally, the market for CDC damper systems has been dominated by foreign suppliers; however, domestic manufacturers like XunBo are increasingly capturing significant market share by producing core components such as solenoid valves. XunBo Technology, based in Shanghai with its manufacturing operations in Changzhou, specializes in components related to vehicle chassis, including automotive solenoid valves.
