DP World has completed the initial phase of a new warehouse in its economic zone located in Caucido, Dominican Republic, significantly enhancing the logistics infrastructure that supports the adjacent port. The facility, named “Warehouse 8,” will expand storage and distribution capabilities within a customs-controlled environment.
The new warehouse is being constructed in several phases and, once fully completed, will offer around 57,000 square meters of space. This facility will accommodate goods storage, inventory management, and a variety of logistics services, targeting industrial companies, importers, and exporters operating throughout the Caribbean and the Americas.
As occupancy levels increase, DP World anticipates that the warehouse will generate between 300 and 500 new jobs in the region.
This project is part of a larger expansion initiative by DP World in Caicedo, which also aims to boost the port’s annual container handling capacity from 2.5 million to approximately 3.1 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs).
