Organizers have announced a third StreamTV show will take place in Bangkok, Thailand, from November 16-18, 2027. This event follows previous successful shows held in Denver and Lisbon, Portugal.
StreamTV Asia is set to occur at the Shangri-La Bangkok, underscoring the growth of the Asian streaming market and the increasing global popularity of Asian content. Organizers anticipate more than 750 attendees, along with over 65 sponsors and exhibitors and more than 100 speakers.
Kevin Gray, the founder of the StreamTV shows, stated that the decision to host the event in Asia was driven by audience feedback. He noted, “A lot of people were coming to us and saying that we need to have something that brings together platforms and content creators and distributors in Asia.” He expressed the desire for a dynamic location beyond typical venues like Hong Kong or Singapore.
According to a news release, the Asia-Pacific region is at the forefront of streaming growth, fueled by rising consumer demand, investments in original content, and advancements in connected TV, advertising, and technology. A report by Media Partners Asia (MPA) forecasts that premium video-on-demand revenue in the region will increase to $52 billion by 2030, up from an estimated $42 billion in 2026.
The MPA’s “Asia-Pacific Video & Broadband 2026” report indicates that almost 60% of global subscription OTT viewers reside in the Asia-Pacific area, with about 160 million connected-TV households (not including China). Additionally, Asian content has gained immense traction globally. For instance, in 2025, Asian series made up approximately 60% of viewing hours for Netflix’s top 10 non-English programs, and since 2019, the audience for Asia-Pacific content on the platform has quadrupled. More than half of Netflix subscribers worldwide view Japanese anime.
The annual StreamTV shows are produced by Forge, a corporate brand formed by the merger of Emerald and Questex LLC after an acquisition by Apollo-managed funds in August.
